X-Men Origins: Wolverine

2009, PG-13
Directed by Gavin Hood
Written by David Benioff and Skip Woods

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is said to be the first in a series of movies focusing on the origin story of a hero or villain from the X-Men universe.  X-Men 2: X-Men United featured back story and characters from Wolverine’s past, though Wolverine did not remember any of it.  This movie featured the events that transpired before his memory was erased—starting with his early childhood to his involvement in an experiment to bind the indestructible metal adamantium to his bones.  It also chronicles his later involvement in a covert governmental mutant group.
